South Devon MP Caroline Voaden continues to push for a banking hub in Totnes, questioning a Treasury Minister in Parliament.
She asked if new regulation is needed to help rural areas retain face-to-face banking services, noting that the Financial Conduct Authority only protects access to cash.
Ms Voaden also mentioned that Lloyds Banking Group will stop allowing customers to cash cheques at Post Offices from January next year.
There is no government body overseeing access to face-to-face banking services, meaning these could be lost.
