First-years and Fall Recruitment

Starting college can be isolating for first-years, especially at Tulane, where students often struggle to find community until later on.

Without fall sorority recruitment, many students face difficulties in finding their community until months into the year.

First-years, usually the ones rushing, often lack concrete connections or a stable friend group when coming into college.

Rushing is a great way to meet people with similar interests, and even if one does not get a house, it is a great way to meet other people rushing.

Almost every woman who rushes at Tulane gets a bid, allowing them to start off with a friend group immediately.

Starting college at Tulane can be isolating, especially for first-years far from home.

Author's summary: First-years benefit from fall recruitment.
