Yorgos Lanthimos Needs a Break from Filmmaking

After releasing another award-worthy film, Yorgos Lanthimos feels he is due for some rest. This is his third consecutive year working with Emma Stone on a film.

Despite intending to take breaks after his previous films, Poor Things (2023) and Kinds of Kindness (2024), Lanthimos now admits he needs "a little break" after Bugonia's release on October 31.

Well, I can’t keep doing that anymore. [Laughs] That’s what we’re certain of right now... It’s a big mistake. I’ve said that before in between the other three, but I’m serious now. I’m going to take a little break.

Lanthimos, a 5-time Oscar nominee, expressed his determination to take a break, saying "Hold me to it".
