It was unfortunate that on a recent night, the only cinema show available to watch was The Materialists, a film that proved to be a disappointing choice for a rare couples' night out.
Life’s been so demanding in this second decade of our marriage, that my husband and I’ve barely managed to accommodate our traditional ‘date nights’.
Despite getting out for various family activities, strictly romantic occasions rarely materialize, making this night even more disappointing with a film that was a "snoozefest" with a "somnambulating lead, Dakota Johnson".
In short: ditch your smartphone and get a life.
