Liberal leader Sussan Ley is facing increasing pressure as speculation mounts about her future leadership. The Canberra press questioned her intensely following comments within her own party suggesting she could lose control within the next year.
Liberal Senator Sarah Henderson publicly stated she “could not support things the way they are” and that Ms. Ley was “losing support” among party members. During a Canberra press conference, Ley was asked directly if her “days leading the party were numbered,” but she avoided addressing the question, instead criticizing the Albanese government on cost of living issues.
“I’m very proud of the team that represents Australian values,” Ms. Ley said.

“I value every single member of my team including the good Senator that you’ve just mentioned. In order to interrogate her view, you should probably ask her,” she said.
