RADiCAIT, an Oxford spinout, utilizes AI to make diagnostic imaging more affordable and accessible, as showcased at TechCrunch Disrupt 2025.
“What we really do is we took the most constrained, complex, and costly medical imaging solution in radiology, and we supplanted it with what is the most accessible, simple and affordable, which is CT,”
According to Sean Walsh, RADiCAIT's CEO, the current process of PET scans is a logistical nightmare for patients. The process involves fasting for 4-6 hours, being injected with radioactive material, waiting for an hour, and then lying still for 30 minutes in the PET scanner.
The challenges are even greater for patients living in rural areas where access to PET scanners is limited. RADiCAIT aims to change this by making diagnostic imaging more accessible and affordable.
