Marines from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit and sailors serving aboard the USS Tripoli arrived back on home soil on Wednesday. They wrapped up tours assigned to the 5th and 7th Fleets. In parallel, a large number of Marines and sailors stationed in Okinawa returned to Japan after missions connected with the Iran situation. The Tripoli pulled in at its home port in Okinawa, wrapping up its deployment. The U.S. Marines and the Royal Australian Air Force wrapped up joint drills at Dyess under the Trident Fury program this week. In Vancouver, the police marine unit rescued a one-week-old seal pup that was found by itself.
