Erika Kirk became emotional while reflecting on her late husband, Charlie Kirk, during a Fox News interview on November 5. She spoke with Jesse Watters about their relationship and Charlie's mission before his assassination on September 10.
Erika shared memories of the early days of their relationship and how she supported Charlie as his career advanced, particularly through his work with Turning Point USA.
During the interview, Jesse Watters showed Erika several videos of Charlie. After watching one, she broke down in tears, saying,
“It is the longest video I’ve watched of him (since he passed). Just give me a second.”
Jesse consoled her gently: “Take your time.” The broadcast faded to black as Erika struggled to regain composure, later returning teary-eyed but more settled.
When asked if she knew about Charlie's mission, Jesse asked, “Charlie was on a mission to save Western civilization. Did you know that's what you signed up for?”
“No, I did not sign up for anything. I just married the love of my life,” Erika responded.
Regarding the day before the shooting, Erika recalled,
“He was at the office and we were going to meet for dinner beforehand with a dear friend of ours, who I wanted to just be with us and pray with us before the event.”
Author's summary: Erika Kirk emotionally recalls her life with Charlie Kirk, sharing intimate moments and her support of his mission prior to his tragic assassination.
