A Crown prosecutor has recommended a 12-year jail sentence without parole for Charlene Jane Alexander, convicted of second-degree murder.

Alexander, 59, fatally stabbed 26-year-old Jessie-Mae Hayward-Lines outside the Prince George courthouse on July 2, 2020.

“bullying to the extreme”

Tyler Bowman described the case as one of extreme bullying, stating that Alexander carried out a purposeful and brutal act of violence against a vulnerable person.

The sentencing hearing heard an outpouring of grief from loved ones of the victim.
