Deutsche Telekom Prepares for Open RAN Expansion

Deutsche Telekom is taking a step-by-step approach to Open RAN, with plans to deploy over 3,000 Open RAN sites by the end of next year.

According to Thomas Lips, senior VP of RAN disaggregation and enablement, the company will issue a request for quotation (RFQ) for 30,000 radio access network (RAN) sites in early 2026, with Open RAN as part of the plan.
