Local Startup Kinis Develops New Fall Prevention Tech
Richmond-based startup Kinis.ai is piloting a new product, BalancePro Exam, aimed at helping people prevent falls.
Kinis.ai, founded in 2018 by CEO Vincent Vu as a minimalist shoe company, has expanded its focus to include a tech application that uses an iPad camera and AI model to assess fall risk.
The startup's original goal was to create a shoe product that was designed with gait and natural foot movements in mind, inspired by Vu's own foot injury from running.
The BalancePro Exam is the company's next generation product, building on its initial launch of socklike shoe products in 2018.
