E INK Envisions Future in Photo Frames and E-Posters
E INK has established new partnerships for e-posters and photo frames utilizing its Spectra 6-color e-paper technology.
E INK's e-paper technology is notably found in Amazon Kindle devices, but it is also integrated into various other products. Recently, the company has made significant announcements in the e-poster and photo frame segments, primarily leveraging Spectra 6 color e-paper technology.
Spectra 6 color e-paper technology, although not characterized by a high refresh rate, boasts unparalleled color accuracy. It employs four color pigments - white, blue, red, and yellow - to display six colors: black, white, cyan, magenta, yellow, and green. By combining these pigments, up to 60,000 colors can be generated, marking a substantial advancement over previous three-color ePaper technologies.
The image resolution achievable with Spectra 6 is up to 200 ppi, equivalent to 1600×1200 pixels on a 13.3″ display, for instance.
