Owls hope to move past semifinal shortcomings in 2025-26 season

Temple Women's Basketball Looks to Overcome Semifinal Shortcomings

Temple Women’s Basketball is gearing up for the 2025-26 season with a revamped roster and a challenging non-conference schedule, aiming to reach the American Conference Championship game.

Coach Diane Richardson is determined to change the team's fate after consecutive semifinal losses to Rice in the American Conference Tournament. Richardson's team won 20 games in each of the last two seasons, a feat not achieved since 2014-17.

The Owls return guards Tristen Taylor and Kaylah Turner, as well as forward Jaleesa Molina, who will headline the team's efforts to overcome their past shortcomings.

Richardson likes Rice head coach Lindsay Edmonds, but not enough to lose to her in consecutive seasons.

With their new roster and tough schedule, Temple hopes to end the narrative of being eliminated by a lower-seeded Rice team and make a push for the championship.
