Kennesaw State University assistant professor Madalynn Marshall found her passion for solid-state chemistry early in her college career.
Marshall credits a renowned professor and continued mentorship for her drive and curiosity in the field. She recalls her undergraduate years at Iowa State, where she gained research experience with Dr. Gordon Miller, a leader in solid-state chemistry.
“During my undergraduate years at Iowa State, I was able to gain some research experience with Dr. Gordon Miller, a leader in solid-state chemistry,” Marshall said. “Solid-state has its own unique corner in chemistry, the idea of exploring magnetism in rare earths and transition metals was an exciting opportunity as an undergraduate.
Marshall's experience during her Ph.D. further solidified her passion for the field, where she realized the incredible potential of these materials and felt fortunate to work alongside amazing researchers.
