Sergio's Pizza is offering free personal pizzas for kids under 18 every Monday and Thursday due to the government shutdown.
The shutdown has affected the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), with no new benefits to be issued starting November 1.
"My mom was a single mother, so I grew up on welfare," said Tyler Dunleavy, owner of Sergio's Pizza. "So I know it's important for people to have those things."
The initiative is Dunleavy's way of giving back to the community.
