Town Council has refused a rezoning application for a former Port Elgin B&B to allow for two additional residential units.
The application was made by property owner Scott Mitchell, who apologized for not obtaining a Building Permit to convert a garage into an accessory apartment unit.
He promised to never do it again, but several Saugeen Shores councillors still defeated a staff recommendation to approve the rezoning request.
A public meeting was held, where Mitchell asked for relief from the Zoning Bylaw.
Author's summary: Council rejects rezoning application despite apology.
