The University of Minnesota’s Forever Green initiative is studying the next steps for Sustainable Aviation Fuel, with winter camelina as a key ingredient. This cover crop protects the soil from erosion and has potential for commercial use.
Mitch Hunter, co-director of the Forever Green Initiative, described the current state of the crop: "right now, they are green rows of little plants which will fully blossom in the spring."
