The International Chess Federation (FIDE) has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Russian chess player Vladimir Kramnik following the death of American chess player Daniel Naroditsky.
"I, together with the FIDE Board, will officially submit all relevant public statements made by Grandmaster Vladimir Kramnik - both before and after the tragic death of Grandmaster Daniel Naroditsky - to the FIDE Ethics and Discipline Commission for independent review.
FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich stated that the organization will take appropriate action in cases of disrespect, harassment, or bullying within the chess community, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a space of honesty, respect, and humanity.
The proceedings come after the death of 29-year-old American chess player of Ukrainian origin Daniel Naroditsky, which was reported the day prior.
