President Mahama's Initiative for Persons with Disabilities
President John Mahama has announced a plan to distribute motorised wheelchairs as part of his administration's commitment to creating a more inclusive society.
Speaking at the launch of the Free Tertiary Education for Persons with Disabilities initiative in Accra, President Mahama outlined his government's broader agenda to promote empowerment and equality for all Ghanaians.
"We intend to introduce a system for distributing rechargeable motorised wheelchairs for persons with disability,"
He also directed all ministers to ensure full compliance with Ghana's Disability Act, presenting action plans within the shortest possible time.
