Rebecca Orwin Discusses Her Debut Novel
Rebecca Orwin's debut middle-grade novel, The Monsters at the End of the World, was acquired by Puffin in a six-figure deal.
Orwin shares her experience, saying
"It didn’t feel very real,"when she landed the deal. Her novel will be published in January, featuring illustrations by Oriol Vidal.
A book-lover and fan of Jonathan Stroud and Philip Pullman, Orwin studied Creative Writing and pursued her author dreams alongside a day job. After writing five books, she got an agent and landed the deal with her sixth book, The Monsters at the End of the World.
Orwin notes that
"You need the hard work, you need the talent but you also need that little bit of luck."
