Vikings' Coach Assigns Blame After 27-Point Loss

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell took full accountability for the team's 27-point defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Vikings, who entered the game at 3-3, were in need of a win to regain momentum while awaiting the return of starting quarterback JJ McCarthy, who is sidelined with an ankle injury.

However, their performance was disappointing, trailing 21-3 at halftime and ultimately falling 37-10.

We got outplayed... There are no excuses — injuries, short week, whatever it is. That is not, in any way, shape, or form, our standard of what we want to put on the field.

O'Connell made it clear that the defeat wasn't on the defense or quarterback Carson Wentz, but on him, saying

As I told our team, we’ve got an opportunity in front of us where we need to own this.
