The Village of Lake George has begun construction on a new Shepard Park Amphitheater, nearly 16 months after a devastating fire destroyed the iconic venue.
The project is being funded through a $1.5 million grant from New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative.
“This is an opportunity for us. And we’re seizing that opportunity today,”said Lake George Mayor Ray Perry.
Community members, local leaders, and state officials gathered for a groundbreaking ceremony to kick off construction on the new and improved outdoor venue.
The new amphitheater is a result of the village turning a new page after the fire.
