Nursing Association of Nepal Urges Enforcement of Minimum Pay Directive
The Nursing Association of Nepal (NAN) has called for the immediate enforcement of the government’s directive on minimum remuneration for nurses.
Hospitals have been accused of ignoring the government order to pay nurses the minimum salary, despite the directive issued on October 10.
- The government fixed the basic monthly salary for fifth-level health workers at Rs34,000 from October 13.
- Many nurses are still receiving as little as Rs15,000.
The failure to implement the directive has caused growing frustration among nurses employed in teaching, government, private, and community hospitals nationwide.
