Ombudsman Program Aims to Bring Awareness to Residents Rights Month
The rights of residents in living facilities are always important, and October brings greater awareness to protect freedoms and liberties.
Organizations like the Ombudsman program, based in Missouri, act as a neutral party to advocate for residents' rights, including dignity, respect, privacy, and communication.
"If the resident says yes, I have a concern, then we hear what their concern is and listen to how they want it resolved,"
said Regional Ombudsman Coordinator Rita Wallinga. The organization's goal is to resolve issues between residents and living facilities through mediation.
