A New Partnership to Support People with Brain Injuries
Headway Devon, a local charity based in Exeter, specializes in helping individuals rehabilitate from head injuries.
They have partnered with Thompsons Solicitors, MAPS Benevolent Trust, and the Players of the Postcode Lottery to support people with brain injuries.
After brain injury people are discharged home to a family network without wider support. You've spent months in hospital, in ICU, in rehabilitation with a team of clinicians around you and suddenly you're all alone.
This partnership aims to address the issue of people being discharged from hospital without adequate support, often still recovering and regaining skills.
Headway Devon currently works with around 100 people weekly, but many more go home alone without knowing about their services.
Thanks to the new partnership, Headway Devon can now provide support in hospitals, reaching more people in need.
