Building an Ageing Agenda in Lebanon
Amel Association International, a member of the HelpAge global network, is putting older people's needs and voices at the center of community recovery in Lebanon.
Amel has launched a dedicated Ageing Unit, which connects home-based support, clinics, and social networks to build stronger, age-inclusive systems.
This initiative is crucial as Lebanon's overlapping crises, including currency collapse, the Beirut port explosion aftermath, and the pandemic, have strained essential services and pushed many into poverty.
Older women and men are among the hardest hit, often facing disability, chronic illness, and isolation without adequate support.
