Conor Regan, 16, has quickly made a name for himself in senior racing after moving up from the U16 ranks. A national title winner on the track this year, Regan has wasted no time in taking his first senior win.
Regan's Kilcullen Cycling Club Murphy Geospacial team had a double celebration in Co Westmeath, as teammate Doireann Killeen won the senior women's race by a significant margin.
At the opening round of the Leinster League of Cyclocross, hosted by Lakeside Wheelers at Belvedere House and Gardens, Regan took the lead early on. However, Sean Lundy (UCD Cycling Club) posed a challenge, making it a race of two halves.
Regan put in a very strong performance, despite being new to the category and riding against seniors for the first time.
