Marines Corps Live-Fire Event at Camp Pendleton
A large stretch of coastal freeway will be closed due to a Marine Corps live-fire event at Camp Pendleton, as part of its 250th birthday celebration.
Initially, the Marines stated that no closures would be necessary, but California has announced a four-hour closure of Interstate 5 near Camp Pendleton, citing "extreme life safety risk and distraction to drivers, including sudden unexpected and loud explosions."
