Judge Dismisses Case Seeking Removal of V.I. Elections Board Chair Raymond Williams, Rejects TRO After Finding No Conflict, No Evidence

Judge Dismisses Case Seeking Removal of V.I. Elections Board Chair

A civil lawsuit seeking to remove V.I. Board of Elections Chairman Raymond Williams from the board was dismissed after Superior Court Judge Alphonso G. rejected a request for a temporary restraining order.

The plaintiffs, including board members Lawrence Boschulte, Harriet Mercer, and Atanya Springette, along with Collister Fahie, had alleged illegality, fraud, or conflict of interest, but the judge found no evidence to support these claims.

The hearing, which began at 10:00 a.m. and concluded after 4:00 p.m., was marked by two interruptions due to disconnections in the virtual setup used by the St. John–based members participating via Zoom.

No conflict, no evidence

The case has been dismissed, and the board's meetings can continue as scheduled.
