Men's Soccer Wolves Advance to Quarterfinals
The Algonquin Wolves men's soccer team defeated the Fanshawe Falcons 4-1 at home on Oct. 15, advancing to the quarterfinals.
The Wolves were scheduled to face the Sheridan Bruins on Oct. 18 at the Algonquin Sports Field.
Gershom Dupuy opened the scoring 26 minutes in, assisted by Alix Basa, with this being the only goal scored in the first half.
"I thought we did a really good job of that, limited their high danger scoring chances," said Falcons' head coach Rob Pereira. "But unfortunately, they got the one in the first half, and then we needed to open up a little bit, and then it hurt us when we switched."
The Wolves took notice of the Falcons' strategy change.
