Researchers suggest that diet may play a significant role in preventing tinnitus, a condition with no current cure.
For those who have experienced the distressing ringing in their ears from tinnitus, managing symptoms is the primary focus of treatment, which may include sound therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), and tinnitus retraining therapy (TRT), along with hearing aids and addressing underlying causes.
A study published in BMJ Open examined 8 observational studies involving 301,533 people, assessing 15 dietary factors through questionnaires, and found that a diet rich in fruits, fibre, dairy, and caffeine might lower the risk of developing tinnitus.
Though it’s essential to note that this research is still inconclusive and should not be seen as a definitive solution.
