Guwahati Bribery Case: CBI Uncovers Massive Assets
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has discovered a significant trail of unaccounted wealth linked to the arrested Executive Director and Regional Officer of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) in Guwahati.
Following a series of raids across multiple cities, officials found the officer at the center of a widening corruption probe, which has exposed substantial assets in his and his family's names.
- Raids were conducted at his office and residences in Guwahati, Ghaziabad, and Imphal.
- Rs 2.62 crore in cash was recovered, along with numerous documents related to real estate and investments.
- The officer was caught red-handed by the CBI on October 14, allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh from a private contractor.
