Tasmania Achieve Shield Redemption
Tasmania have secured a thrilling win over Western Australia in the Sheffield Shield, avenging one of the tightest losses in the competition's history from the previous summer.
Western Australia required 259 runs to win and got close, reducing the margin to seven runs with two wickets in hand on the final morning in Hobart.
Joel Curtis was adjudged lbw on 50 by a Riley Meredith ball that stayed low from around the wicket.
The turning point came when Jackson Bird trapped No.11 Liam Haskett lbw with an in-swinging yorker, ending Western Australia's chase and dismissing them for 255, just three runs short of their target.
