Feyenoord manager Robin van Persie has admitted to being in contact with Brentford's Antoni Ilambo regarding his serious knee injury.
Ilambo suffered the injury while playing for the Dutch U21s during the international break, and was stretchered off after screaming in pain. Early reports indicated a long-term absence, which was later confirmed by Brentford.
Brentford revealed that Ilambo had suffered a cruciate ligament injury, which will keep him sidelined for months. This is a major blow for the youngster, who joined Brentford from Feyenoord in the summer transfer window.
