Director John Waters is known by many names, including "The Prince of Puke," "The Anal Ambassador," and "The Pope of Trash," a title given to him by author William S. Burroughs.

Waters has built a career on creating films that receive scathing reviews and making audiences uncomfortable, from his early "Trash Trilogy" - Multiple Maniacs, Pink Flamingos, and Female Trouble - to his later films Cry-Baby and Serial Mom.

He has been referred to as "The Pope of Trash" by William S. Burroughs.

On October 22, as part of The Vermont International Film Festival, Waters will provide live commentary on Female Trouble in Burlington. The screening is currently sold out.
