Bezzecchi, still experiencing severe back pain two weeks after the crash, clarified that he was conscious throughout the incident but stayed down due to difficulty breathing. He stated,
I was always conscious. I stayed down because for the hit, especially in my back, I couldn’t breathe. So I stayed there trying to wait the moment that the breath came back.
