President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday evening that he would "terminate" federal funding for the Gateway Project, aiming to build new Hudson River train tunnels.
The project, which has been in development for over a century, would be left with unfinished construction sites, including two holes on either side of the river, in North Bergen and Manhattan's West Side.
He'll leave a new mark on the region in the form of a pair of unfinished holes on either side of the river.
Federal transportation officials under former President Joe Biden had committed to paying for $6 billion of the project's funding.
