A 39-year-old Latham man, identified as Goswani, allegedly worked a second job while on the clock for the state, resulting in the theft of over $50,000.
According to investigators, Goswani was employed remotely by the New York State Office of Information Technology Services while also working for the town of Malta.
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Inspector General’s Office.
Goswani was charged with second-degree grand larceny and arraigned in Malta Town Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.
