Grand Valley Unites to Fight Hunger
On October 11, Grand Valley Catholic Outreach hosted their 30th annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, continuing a tradition that fills both hearts and bowls.
The event featured tables filled with soup, desserts, beverages, and hand-crafted ceramic bowls, each made by local artists and donated to a good cause. The fundraiser raises money for Catholic Outreach's soup kitchen.
The reality is that there are people without homes, and there are people who come to Grand Valley Catholic Outreach every day to our soup kitchen, six days a week, to perhaps have their only meal of the day. So, the empty bowl is symbolic, and we fill that empty bowl up, and our participants fill that empty bowl up for other people by being here.
