Uciwai Residents Plea for Urgent Action Amid Ongoing Water Issue
As the country prepares for Diwali, families in Uciwai, Nadi, continue to struggle with irregular water supply due to the prolonged dry season.
Asha Devi Krishna says the problem has been ongoing for years and despite countless complaints to the Water Authority of Fiji, the situation has not improved.
According to Krishna, for the past week, they haven’t had any proper water supply, and even when water does come, it’s only for one or two hours at night. This inconsistent supply has made life extremely difficult for working families, who have to wake up to fill containers.
- Many families are now forced to buy bottled water, which is becoming costly.
