Grain Silo Collapse in Martinton, Illinois
A concrete grain silo collapsed on Wednesday afternoon in Martinton, Illinois, causing a power outage in the area.
No injuries were reported. The collapse was discovered by ambulance personnel who noticed a bulge forming on the north side of the silo.
Recognizing the risk, they alerted Martinton Fire Chief Jeff Meyer, who promptly called in fire crews to evacuate the area and establish a collapse zone.
