Gerard Piqué's Decision to Leave Manchester United
Gerard Piqué shares the story of his meeting with Sir Alex Ferguson, which led to his decision to leave Manchester United after four years at the club.
Piqué was signed by Manchester United from Barcelona's La Masia academy in 2004, after Ferguson recognized his potential as a young Spanish Under-17 international.
Piqué would eventually return to Barcelona and go on to win every piece of silverware possible – for club and country.
Despite being renowned as one of the greatest defenders of his generation, Manchester United was unable to get the best out of Piqué during his time at Old Trafford.
