Qatar Air Force Facility in Idaho
The US will allow Qatar to build an air force facility in Idaho, according to the defense secretary's announcement.
A US Air Force spokesperson stated that this plan has been "in the works for years" and is similar to accommodations made for other allies in the country.
Mountain Home Air Force Base "will host a contingent of Qatari F-15s and pilots to enhance our combined training [and] increase the lethality, interoperability,"
said Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a meeting at the Pentagon with his Qatari counterpart, Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani.
Criticism has arisen from prominent figures in the GOP's MAGA base, including right-wing personality Laura Loomer.
