The final cruise ship of the season, Holland America's Noordam, arrived in Nanaimo, bringing hundreds of passengers to the Harbour City on a rainy day.
The vessel, which is fully booked with 1,900 passengers and 800 crew members, is on its way down the coast from Alaska, having stopped in Prince Rupert and planning to stop in Victoria en route to Seattle.
Notably, this is Holland America's first port call in Nanaimo, despite the cruise line operating for over 150 years.
The captain said the cruise line is planning three visits to Nanaimo in 2026.
A ceremony was held in the crow's nest lounge to mark the occasion, where ship captain Marek Zoll presented Port of Nanaimo chairperson Donna Hais with a ship plaque, and Hais presented Zoll with Indigenous artwork.
