Naomi Osaka Overcomes Injury to Defeat Defending Champion
First seed Naomi Osaka is competing for her first title at the Japan Open. During the tournament, she injured her left leg while playing against defending champion Suzan Lamens.
Osaka initially took the lead in the first set, but Lamens put up a tough competition, forcing Osaka to work hard for her spot in the quarterfinals. In the third set, Osaka started strongly, taking a 5-0 lead, but injured her leg when Lamens hit a backhand shot.
