Leader of Opposition Dumelang Saleshando has demanded accountability from President Duma Boko regarding the declaration of a State of Public Health Emergency, calling it "a mere drama".
Saleshando expressed concern that Boko declared the emergency immediately after the Parliament winter session, and warned that this move undermines the legislative's power in decision-making.
"We seem to have a trend of a national president who acts alone on very important national issues and remember as Parliament our duty is to provide oversight on the conduct of the executive,"
Saleshando urged legislators to take note, stating that if decisions are made without their oversight, it could lead to negative consequences.
