Lehigh Appoints New Title IX Officer
Brigid Benicasa has been appointed as the new Equal Opportunity and Title IX Officer at Lehigh, starting on Wednesday, as announced by Provost Nathan Urban in an email to the Lehigh community.
Prior to her appointment, Benicasa worked at the U.S. Department of Justice as a Senior Trial Attorney in the Educational Opportunities Section of the Civil Rights Division for six years.
- She also served as a Title IX Investigator for the University of Washington.
- Benicasa has 10 years of experience in civil rights, education, family and children’s law.
- Her experience also spans public service, higher education, and non-profit sectors.
Her responsibility will be to adhere to federal policies, including Title IX and Title IV, as well as other university-related policies.
