Ubisoft's iconic stealth-action franchise has made its streaming debut with Splinter Cell: Deathwatch, but it fails to live up to the Splinter Cell name despite some fun moments and stellar animation.
A scene in Splinter Cell: Deathwatch where Sam Fisher casually walks in front of a security camera is particularly jarring for long-time fans, as it goes against the character's usual cautious nature.
The Sam Fisher I know would never do something so careless, even if it was intentional.
Over the years, Ubisoft has pulled the character in different directions, diluting his original persona. Notable examples include the 2006 plot twist where Sam's daughter was killed and he was sent to prison.
