Engineers Develop Self-Ejecting! Car Battery in Case of Fire
A new system has been designed to eject a car battery in the event of a fire, specifically during thermal runaway, also known as spontaneous combustion.
A video from a Chinese automotive safety symposium demonstrates this technology, showing an SUV firing a battery module from underneath the vehicle.

The question remains whether this is a good idea, but the technology is intended to improve safety in the event of a fire.
