Texas GOP Censures Lawmakers
The Texas GOP has censured five of its lawmakers in the Texas House, but rejected banning them from the 2026 primary ballot.
The State Republican Executive Committee (SREC) met on Saturday to consider reprimanding 10 Republican House members for being insufficiently conservative.

The decision signals a deescalating intraparty tension that heightened at the start of the year.
The party's governing board rejected an untested provision that some House members say would have violated their constitutional right to appear on the ballot.
